Supporting Women Living with Cancer

 

Welcome to Women LISTEN. We offer weekly support group meetings Friday mornings from 10:00 to 11:30 for Alaskan women who have experienced cancer. We meet in person at the YMCA on Lake Otis Boulevard in Anchorage. You can also attend the meeting via Zoom video (online since April 2020!) All are welcome to join us - from newly diagnosed to long-time survivors. For your Zoom meeting invite, please email womenlisten@gmail.com. We also offer educational events and retreats (conditions permitting).

News Flash

• Join us for our National Cancer Survivors Day® "Day in the Tropics" celebration (Anchorage at the Mann Leiser Memorial Greenhouse) on June 1st, 2025! In addition to festive music and fun, we will share information on survivorship planning.
• Register with the Alaska Run for Women and choose team name "Women Listen" to join us in person or virtually.
• Our popular fly-fishing retreat returns to Chugiak August 9, 2025. Available free of charge to women who have had a diagnosis of any cancer. Participants will build a supportive and empowering network through talking and fly-fishing activities, including fly casting and float tubing on a lake. Find more information on our Retreats page. Applications are due July 15, 2025. This is our third retreat in a row at Beach Lake since pandemic cancellations.
